The real problem facing Mac devs is that consumers are now used togetting apps for free or paying very little for them. This, combinedwith the fact that Mac apps take longer to develop, make it a muchless attractive platform to try and earn a living from.

I can definitely sympathise with this. Sales on the Mac App Store are quite slow, in my experience.
It's possible to have an app chart in a category without having sold a single copy for a couple of weeks. That's not a good sign.
